In the early 1930's that committee was replaced by a committee composed of students and faculty, the Board of Student Publications. ![]() The Faculty Committee on Student Publications first governed the newspaper on campus. In 1912, the newspaper became a part of the University of Florida administration, and was renamed the Florida Alligator.
